Nokia have finally set a date for the official release of the 5800 XpressMusic over at the UK. The first S60 touch-enabled phone will start selling through the Finnish company's flagship stores starting from 23 January at SIM-free price of little less than 280 euro (249 GBP).
The SIM-free handset will also be available through the Nokia UK online store.
Just a week later on 30 January, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will also start selling through all the major UK carriers and mobile phone retailers.
Update: It seems there has been some misunderstanding and our news source has posted some misleading info. After some timely input from our readers, we found out that the expected Nokia 5800 release date is actually 23rd February instead of 23rd January. The UK carriers and cellphone retailers will be getting the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic in about the same timeframe.
The best part about the this piece of news however is the announced price. The UK Nokia 5800 price tag of 280 euro means that Nokia have finally managed to deliver on the promise they made when they first announced the 5800 XpressMusic. The expected retail price of the handset at that time was 279 euro but the great hype that the device generated kept it much higher for the holiday shopping spree.
While you're saving the cash that will get the 5800 in you pocket, you can check back on our homepage next week. We finally managed to secure a unit of Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and the review is just around the corner.
For now, here is a bunch of live photos of the device and you can also have a look at our trademark 360-degree spin found
